A World without walls
everyday life while homeschooling overseas
"Why do we have so much junk?" That quote from the Incredibles has been running through my head for months. I've been doing my very best to dejunk and purge--I've given away TONS of stuff--so why do I have SO MUCH left??!? My goodness. We hit our limit with our HHE. We've never done that before. Honestly, I think part of it was the sheer amount of packing materials these guys used. I've never seen so much packing materials used! Wow! I guess our stuff will be safer?? At this point, I don't even care if it falls off the boat into the ocean. :/ Also, the guys weighing everything were rounding up...in kilos. I didn't know this until later when Josh was telling me about it. Why didn't someone mention something? That's a big deal! So they're rounding up, and getting paid for more weight than they actually shipped. Grr... Well, lesson learned. Next time, I'm having a HUGE yard sale after each school year, and no matter how painful, I'm going to get rid of almost everything! It's not worth it to drag all this stuff around with me. It's just stuff. Less is more anyway, right? Another part of my problem is my love of books. I DID get rid of a TON of books (perhaps literally...), but I just can't help holding on to some! Honestly, though, we get SO many books every year, I just can't hold onto them. I'm going to consider myself as a library. Read the books, love them, maybe take a picture of my favorites, then let them go. Bless someone else. It's good to learn new life lessons. It's sure stressful, though.

Emily's books
by Dan Brown
I like that the plot twists and turns a lot...and it makes you think. However, I don't appreciate Dan Brown's endings in his books. I find the endings incongruent with the rest of his stories--why make it a romance for the last chapter...

I loved this book. I'm a sucker for fairy tales/fantasy. This was so well written! I can't wait to read all the rest of her books!

I'm reading this one again. I liked it the first time I read it. I'm still liking it for the second time around. I like all of Shannon Hales' books.
