A World without walls
everyday life while homeschooling overseas
I want to give a HUGE shout out to my kids!! They finished their school year!! Wow!! At first, I had intended to finish school the end of May. I thought that was very ambitious of me! Then, I realized we could move it up and end by the middle of May! Then, we all decided that it would be a good idea to end even earlier! So, April 29 it was! Impressive! When my kids tell their friends that they're done with school, their friends all whine about how they wish THEY were done, too! Then I ask them if they would like to have given up their Christmas, winter, and spring breaks, do school on other holidays, and have 10 hour school days. They usually say no. I'm proud of the work my kids did this year. They DESERVE a big break! We're going to use the remaining time here in Jordan to swim, do art, ride bikes, do more art, watch documentaries on Antarctica (random, I know), make games (yes, I said MAKE), swim some more, and most importantly--deep clean, organize, and PURGE!! Woohoo! This week, though, the kids will be going through all their school work and picking out their favorites to put in their portfolios. Should be fun, even though it's a big job! They're excited to get rid of all the books AND the desks! I love cleaning out time. It's so liberating! And I'm looking forward to a little 'summer break' just as much as (if not more so than) my kids! Hooray for 'time off'!

Emily's books
by Dan Brown
I like that the plot twists and turns a lot...and it makes you think. However, I don't appreciate Dan Brown's endings in his books. I find the endings incongruent with the rest of his stories--why make it a romance for the last chapter...

I loved this book. I'm a sucker for fairy tales/fantasy. This was so well written! I can't wait to read all the rest of her books!

I'm reading this one again. I liked it the first time I read it. I'm still liking it for the second time around. I like all of Shannon Hales' books.
