A World without walls
everyday life while homeschooling overseas
Claire and I like to have little outings together every once in awhile. This outing was to a ballet to see Claire's friend dance! It was a cute little production of 'Alice in Wonderland'. I had no idea it was also a ballet, but I suppose you can really put anything to music. It was fun to sit and watch the dancers, especially all the little girls. But, best of all, I enjoyed sitting by MY little girl. Love my Claire! :) And, of course, because no post is complete without a funny, here's the funny from this trip: Claire and I took a taxi to the Royal Cultural center when the ballet was put on. On the way there, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Just the regular old taxi white-knuckling ride while the guy smoked away in the front seat (Claire just loves that...and we always smell so nice once we get where we're going...). On the way home, however, we got this young-ish taxi driver. He picks us up while talking on his cell phone. Not an uncommon occurrence, but usually they do the hands-free route, but it was alright. The kid was a crazy driver--even more than normal!! And then, as he's chatting away and calling one person after another on his cell, another cell phone rings on his dashboard, and while he's talking and driving, he picks up the other cell and starts TEXTING! Bwahaha! I wasn't sure if we were going to make it home or not. He alternated between talking and texting on both phones for the rest of the trip. We made it, but man, that was definitely an example of great multi-tasking...I think...

Emily's books
by Dan Brown
I like that the plot twists and turns a lot...and it makes you think. However, I don't appreciate Dan Brown's endings in his books. I find the endings incongruent with the rest of his stories--why make it a romance for the last chapter...

I loved this book. I'm a sucker for fairy tales/fantasy. This was so well written! I can't wait to read all the rest of her books!
