A World without walls
everyday life while homeschooling overseas
Our first stop in our grand nature tour through the US is Timpanogos Cave National Monument! We had a great time! We attended a Junior Ranger hour activity, hiked up the VERY steep trail to the entrance of the Cave(s), enjoyed the coolness of the caves (and that word has multiple meanings--the caves were very cool, both literally and figuratively!), and then even hiked all the way back down! What troopers! They seriously earned their Jr. Ranger badges! We got some great exercise, saw all kinds of flowers and trees that we marked in our Field Guide; we saw tiger swallowtails and hummingbirds...and the view was spectacular! We also saw all kinds of rock formations and different kinds of rocks (limestone, calcite, granite, quartzite, etc.) and who could beat the education of learning all the different formations inside the caves? The ranger told us all kinds of great stories about the formations--how they came to be and their names and when they were discovered. Pretty amazing place! It was my first time in a cave, and it was spectacular! A highly recommended outing! Inside the Caves Montage: Once we got back down to the ranger station, we turned in our books and took the pledge to be certified Jr Rangers! A great adventure and a great learning experience for everyone!

Emily's books
by Dan Brown
I like that the plot twists and turns a lot...and it makes you think. However, I don't appreciate Dan Brown's endings in his books. I find the endings incongruent with the rest of his stories--why make it a romance for the last chapter...

I loved this book. I'm a sucker for fairy tales/fantasy. This was so well written! I can't wait to read all the rest of her books!

I'm reading this one again. I liked it the first time I read it. I'm still liking it for the second time around. I like all of Shannon Hales' books.
