I got this one at an easter party a few days ago. I love the shallow DOF, the vibrant colors, and how the framing makes the subject pop. f 5.0, iso 400, 1/160, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 22.1 mm.

I got this one on the beach in Sri Lanka of some friends, just as I was taking the picture one of their phones popped a flash; lighting their faces for two cameras! I love how the bright flash lights them with a white light, in high contrast to the sky and water. f 3.4, iso 3200, 0.4, 4.3-180mm lens at 4.3mm.
I got this one of Nishan (a friend of ours) during a BBQ at our house. It was a windy evening, so the coals DID NOT want to start. While they were trying to light a starter, I snapped this one. I love the dramatic lighting, unlike most pictures of this kind, in this one you can see the light source, which I think is cool. f 5.0, iso 1600, 1/15, 4.3 mm - 180.6 mm lens at 18.2.
I got this one in an orphanage that we volunteer at. The shallow depth of field and the white backlighting really make their faces pop. I have always loved it when you have the white reflection in your subjects eyes, and this one is no exception. f 5.6, iso 1600, 1/20, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 43.5 mm.
This was taken on one foggy morning in ohio. As the sun was rising it sent beams of light through the trees, made visible by the morning fog. Sunbeams are so much fun to photograph. f 5.0, iso 400, 1/1600, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 18.9.
This one was taken while going down the stairs of an old building of historical importance. I love dramatic lighting situations like this one. this one almost seems to be reaching out to the viewer and creating a sense of longing and loneliness. (nice allitteration there) f 3.5, iso 400, 1/200, 4.3-180.6 mm lens ot 5.0 mm.
I really like this shot. This one was taken under harsh conditions. If you have ever been to a zoo with an indoor night section you will know what I had to work with. Glass cages in a dark room with your subject inside them, are not the photographers most sought after circumstances. But on this one, the exact moment I clicked the shutter, some light somewhere went off and lit the subject (an owl) in a very interesting way. If I had given up at the begginning and decided that the conditions were so bad that I just woldn't even try, I would never have gotten this shot. f 5.6, iso 3200, 1/8, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 47.1.
This one is just beautiful. I really like motion panning. This one was taken at the orphanage in sri lanka. We went, I think last week, and they put on a christmas pagent for us to make a change in our vaulenteer work there. f 5.0, iso 800, 1/20, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 23.3 mm.
I think this landcape turned out really well. the sunset that night was AMAZING! and we set up at a really good spot. I like how the buildings are mostly sillouetes with some of the lights in them on. and the sunset reflecting off the water creates a really nice effect. f 3.5, iso 100, 1/20, 4.3-180.6 mm lens at 4.3.
I think the sunburst really helps this photo. I also like the fact that the kangaroo is a sillouet conected to the hill, and is starting to turn away. this one also has an interesting range of color. f 5.6, iso 100, 1/1600, 4.3-180.6 lens at 7.3 mm.
